Unless you don’t use the Internet at all – and if you don’t, then you aren’t reading this — you know what social media sites are. Social networking is all the rage. Almost everyone has a Facebook page today. In fact, a lot of people have more than one! If you have an event coming up, one of the best ways to make sure that everyone knows is to put it on your social media page, or make a page just for the event.

Many people have started to come up with ways to start tracking social media sites. Both businesses as well as individuals find that with so many options out there, it can be hard to keep up with all the networking that is going on.

For example, you may find that a good portion of your time online is spent keeping up with what your friends and family are up to. You might even have to log into multiple sites to do this. Twitter, MySpace, and Facebook are all extremely popular, and you may have some people in your social group that only use one of these, and not another. This can be frustrating.

Keeping up with everyone is much easier today than it was in the past. This does not mean that there is no time commitment involved. Though you don’t have to wait weeks to get a response back from a letter any longer, you may find that you still put a lot of time in keeping up. This is simply due to the sheer amount of people that you are now able to keep in touch with. Friends from high school, that you never expected to talk to again, all of a sudden show up. In some ways this is great – in others, it can make for a huge time sink.
